As part of Big Sunday I created an alternative Public Drop-in for feedback on the ‘Painters Yard’
Reaching communities through art – Painters Yard
In response to a development proposal on the site of what had previously been a community space, this one-day event was conceived to engage local people in thinking about what they want and submitting feedback about the proposals.
Using a relational approach this project helped engage with the public, offering multiple ways to feedback into the development proposals for all ages and abilities, within a public workshop setting. The event ignited a wave of public opposition which resulted in the rejection of the development by the planning department at the current time.
